Health and safety

Protecting your well-being

As a leading manufacturer of mobile phones, Sony Ericsson is committed to high safety standards in the design of its products.

All of our phone models are carefully designed and rigorously tested to comply with international safety standards and government health and safety regulations. These standards employ wide safety margins to give greatest protection to the public.

Extensive research over many years has not established any conclusive evidence linking adverse health effects with the use of mobile phones meeting those standards and regulations.

The radio wave exposure guidelines employ a unit of measurement known as the Specific Absorption Rate, or SAR. Tests for SAR are conducted using standardized methods with the phone transmitting at its highest certified power level in all used frequency bands. The differences in SAR values between phone models do not reflect a difference in safety.
To find SAR information for a specific product, go to the SAR information page on one of our local sites and select your product.
