Statement on hoax competitions and unsolicited communications using the Sony Ericsson name

Sony Ericsson is aware of a series of unsolicited communications including emails and SMS messages sent to individuals claiming they have won a competition or prize through a Sony Ericsson competition.

These unsolicited communications are not from Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications and are believed to be attempts to obtain personal data for fraudulent purposes.

All competitions and promotions involving Sony Ericsson are run through our official channels such as the Sony Ericsson website or Sony Ericsson’s partner websites. Please be wary of any competition or promotion that appears to come from outside of Sony Ericsson or our partners’ official channels.

Please do not reply to, provide any personal data of yours or others, take action or forward the suspected hoax email/SMS if you receive it.
