As follows: 1. Make sure that Bluetooth™ is turned on in your phone and that it's visible to other devices (please refer to your phone's User Guide to do this). Also, make sure that the phone is close to the headset (max. 20 cm). 2. Make sure that the headset is turned off and in single point mode. 3. Press and hold the On/Off button for at least five seconds, until you hear a long beep after the first signal. Now the headset is in pairing mode. 4. If your phone supports autopairing, all you have to do now is to press Yes when the question “Add device” appears in the phone. If not, you must prepare your phone for adding a new device according to the phone's user guide. Your device is now paired and ready to use.
Pairing (sometimes also called adding or bonding) enables two Bluetooth devices, for example a headset and a phone, to connect to each other and work together whenever they are switched on and within range of each other.
Before you can start using your Bluetooth Headset with another Bluetooth device, for example a phone, the two devices have to be paired with each other. You only need to pair the two devices once, and normally there's no need to repeat this procedure. But if you want to use your headset with, for example, another phone, you must pair the headset with the new phone.
If you use the device in multipoint mode, the standby time is reduced. To increase the standby time, always remember to unpair a device you're no longer using. To unpair a device, you must reset the headset and re-pair the devices you want to use.
To reset the headset to the default settings:
Switch the headset off.
Press and hold down the on/off key until the display shows the pairing icon.
Follow the pairing instructions to pair the devices you want to use.
It takes about 2 hours to fully charge the Bluetooth Headset. If you haven’t used the headset for a while, the battery could have a reduced capacity and may need fully recharging more than once.
Note: Before you start using your Bluetooth Headset, you must charge it for approximately 8 hours to reach the battery's maximum capacity.
This is a limitation of Bluetooth™ stereo audio streaming and not an issue specific to the headset. The streaming service takes up most of the data bandwidth, which means that access by any other service (e.g. data communication with the PC) will interrupt the audio stream.
By using a voice command, you can use your voice to redial, answer and reject calls. This can be very useful when you're using a headset and a phone together.
As follows: 1. Turn on Bluetooth™ in your device. 2. Turn on Bluetooth™ visibility in your device, and keep it close to the headset (max. 20 cm away). 3. Select multipoint mode and make sure the headset is off. 4. Press and hold the on/off button for 5 seconds. You hear a long beep after the first signal. The headset is ready to be added. 5. Prepare your device according to the instructions for adding a Bluetooth device in the device's user guide. Please note that you may need to enter a passcode. The headset passcode is 0000.
Multipoint mode is only for pairing music devices. Phones must be paired in single point mode. If you experience problems when trying to pair with a phone, reset the headset, put the headset in single point mode, then pair with the music device in multipoint mode.
When you pair the Bluetooth Headset with a phone, the headset is added to the phone's list of paired Bluetooth devices. When you subsequently turn the headset on, the phone will automatically recognise the headset. If you've paired the phone with more than one Bluetooth device, you must choose which device you want to connect your phone to from the phone's list of Bluetooth devices.
When you change phone or Bluetooth Headset, you must always repeat the pairing procedure to specify the connection for these devices. Each pairing procedure is always specific between those two devices.
Note:This Sony Ericsson Bluetooth™ headset is compatible with most Bluetooth™ phones on the market that support the headset and/or a handsfree profile. If you're using another brand of phone and wish to check this, please contact your phone manufacturer.
Yes, the radio signal strength is so low that it will not interfere with your pacemaker. But somebody carrying a pacemaker should always consult his/her doctor before starting to use the Bluetooth™ equipment.
A2DP stands for Advanced Audio Distribution Profile, and is the technology that lets devices stream high-quality sound in stereo to each other via Bluetooth™.
Check that: a) the device you wish to connect the headset to is Bluetooth enabled, and that Bluetooth is activated (for more information, see the user's guide for the other device) b) the headset and the device are correctly paired c) the headset is fully charged, switched on and within range of the other device (not more than 1 metre away)
If you can't make a call using the headset, check that: a) the headset is fully charged, switched on and within range of the phone (not more than 1 metre away) b) Bluetooth is turned on in the phone (for more information, see the phone's user's guide) c) the headset is correctly paired with your phone
Note: For detailed instructions on how to pair the headset with a phone (most Sony Ericsson phones), click on Product Information/Getting started in the left-hand navigation menu, or use the phone's user's guide.
Before you start, make sure your phone supports voice commands.
To start using voice commands (for detailed instructions, see the phone's user's guide): 1. Prepare your phone by activating the voice command function. 2. Record your voice commands. When you've done this, you'll be able to use voice commands with the headset and the phone.
Note: Do the recording in a normal environment. Check that the phone numbers are saved correctly (for example, home number under "Home", etc.).
First of all, make sure that the headset is properly paired with the device you wish to use. Start the player in your device, and select to use the headset. Then press the music button. The headset connects to your phone, and the music starts playing. To pause the music or start playing again, press the music button.
If you can not answer a call using the headset, check that: a) the headset is fully charged, switched on and within range of the phone (not more than 1 meter away) b) Bluetooth is turned on in the phone (for more information, see the phone's user's guide) c) the headset is correctly paired with your phone Note: If the headset has been used with another phone before, the headset needs to be reset before pairing it to the new phone. The reason for this is that even if the headset has a multipoint switch that allows several A2DP-sources (phones/devices that can stream music via Bluetooth) to be connected the headset, it does not accept several phones to be connected, only one (the first). Streaming music from another phone will work but you will not be able to handle phone calls. If there is an incoming call the music is muted. However, no ring signal can be heard in the headset, and you will need to use the phone to handle the call. Transfer of sound/call to headset does not work, and you will receive a "Bluetooth connection failed" message. To correct this the headset needs to be reset before pairing it with the other phone.
As follows: 1. Make sure the headset is off, and press and hold the On/Off button for 5 seconds. You hear a long beep after the first signal. The headset is ready to be added. 2. Press and hold the On/Off button and the call handling button simultaneously for 5 seconds. The headset is turned off. A reset is now performed.
Single point means your headset is connected to only one source, your phone, and uses it both for calls and for music. Multipoint means that your device is connected to several (up to ten) devices, with one used for calls and the others for music.
When you reset the settings in the headset, the headset will go into default mode (as it left the factory, before being used). This means the pairings you've made to other Bluetooth devices no longer exist.
You can reset your headset when, for example, you start using a new phone with your headset and you no longer want to use the old phone.
