Before you can use your Bluetooth™ headset with your phone, it must be paired once with the phone. Follow the instructions in your phone User guide for turning on the Bluetooth function in the phone. After a successful pairing, the headset will automatically connect to the phone as soon as it is turned on and within range.

To pair the headset with your phone:

1. Make sure the headset is turned off.
2. Turn on the Bluetooth function and Bluetooth visibility in your phone (this makes the phone visible to other Bluetooth devices).
3. Place the phone within 20 cm (8 inches) of the headset.
4. Press and hold down the action key on the headset for about 5 seconds until the white indicator light starts flashing and the red/green indicator light flashes red and green.
5. If your phone supports auto pairing, press "Yes" when you're asked to add the headset to the phone. If not, see your phone User guide on how to pair the Bluetooth device. If required, the headset passcode is 0000.
6. The white indicator light stops flashing and the red/green indicator light slowly flashes green when successfully paired.

Once you've paired the headset with your phone, you can make calls when the headset is turned on. Solid objects, walls and a distance greater than 5 metres (16.5 feet) can impair the sound quality.

To answer a call:

• A beep indicates an incoming call. Briefly press the action key on the headset to answer the call.

• Press and hold down the action key until you hear a beep.

Once you've paired the headset with your phone, you can make calls when the headset is turned on. Solid objects, walls and a distance greater than 5 metres (16.5 feet) can impair the sound quality.

To make a call:

1. Use the phone keys, and dial the number in the same way as you would normally do. The call is automatically activated in the headset.
2. To end the call, briefly press the action key on your headset, or use your phone.

To reset your Bluetooth™ headset:

1. Make sure the headset is turned off.
2. Press and hold down the action key on your headset for about 5 seconds, until the white indicator light starts flashing and the red/green indicator light flashes red and green.
3. Press and hold the action key on the headset until the headset is completely switched off. The headset is now reset to as it was when purchased.

When the battery needs charging, the red/green indicator light on the headset flashes red and you hear a low beep. If you don't charge the headset, it automatically turns off within 10 minutes. You can charge the headset with the supplied charger or with a Sony Ericsson phone charger. It takes approximately 2.5 hours to charge the headset.

Note: Before you use the headset for the first time, you must charge it for approximately 8 hours to reach the maximum capacity of the battery.

To turn on the headset:

• Press and hold down the action key for a few seconds until the white indicator light turns on.

• Press and hold down the action key for a few seconds until the white indicator light disappears.

Voice commands can only be used with the headset if your phone supports voice dialling. For more information, please see your phone User guide.

To make a call using voice commands:

1. Press and hold the action key until you hear a beep.
2. Then say your command.

No connection to the phone:

• Make sure the headset is charged.
• Make sure the headset is within 10 metres (33 feet) of the phone, with no solid objects in between.
• Check or redo the Bluetooth settings in the phone.
• Try to pair the headset again.

• Make sure the call list in the phone is not empty.

• Make sure your phone supports voice commands.
• Make sure the voice commands are enabled and recorded in your phone before you start using them.

• Make sure your phone is paired with the headset. You may have to restart the media player and choose to use the headset.
• Make sure your phone supports the Bluetooth Advanced Audio/Video Distribution profile.

• Some phones do not support remote volume control.

• The battery level is too low. You hear a low beep approximately 10 minutes before the headset turns off. Charge the battery.
• The headset turns off if you do not pair it with the phone within 10 minutes.

• Reset the headset.

To listen to music:

1. Start the media player in your phone and choose to use the headset.
2. Briefly press the action key to pause and restart the music.
