Yes, you can download and pre-install maps of selected city areas from www.MyWayfinder.com. The maps can then be transferred from your PC to your mobile phone, via Bluetooth, Infrared or USB cable, and installed in the Other folder.
For detailed instructions on how to pre-install maps on your mobile phone, please visit MyWayfinder.com and go to Service / Downloads / Maps to your mobile.
The pre-installed maps are automatically activated when your GPS position is covered by those maps. Pre-installing maps will therefore reduce the amount of data transferred while you're using the Wayfinder application. The server will only send you new maps for areas that aren't already stored on your phone. You contact the server to calculate the route and to receive an itinerary, which appears on the map itself (this is why data is downloaded when you're using stored maps).
When using your GPS in your car, place the GPS close to the windscreen with a clear view of the sky. Also make sure that the device is not exposed to excessive heat when left in the car.
Note: In some newer cars the windows are coated with a metal film that might block signals to the GPS. If so, you'll get bad reception and your GPS might not work properly.
Note: If there is no GPS location in the Applications menu, you must install the application first. You can do this from Settings > Connectivity > Accessories. Select your accessory and then GPS downloads > GPS Location.
