Connectivity issues

If your phone displays "No Network" or "Emergency Calls Only":

  • Determine the area(s) where the issue occurs. Lifts, mountains, car parks and other enclosed areas may cause signal interference. You may be able to improve reception by moving to an open location free from obstructions.
  • Turn the phone off, remove and re-insert the battery, then switch the phone on again.
  • Perform a "Network Search" from the phone menu to check if any networks are available within range, including the home network. Try to select one of the "Allowed" networks manually, and see if the phone can connect to that network.
  • Remove the SIM card and test with a known good SIM card to isolate the issue. Note: For some models, unsaved messages in the phone may not be available after swapping SIM cards. Make sure that no personal data is lost.
  • Try an update of the phone software using the Sony Ericsson Update Services. If this doesn't help, validate warranty conditions as appropriate for the repair process in your local market.
