Create a backup of the user data in your phone

To avoid losing your images, contacts, music, video clips and messages, Sony Ericsson recommends that you save your personal user data before you perform a software update or a master reset.

You have several options for transferring the user data to and from your phone memory. Depending on the data you want to transfer and which technologies your phone supports, you can use a Memory Stick™, PC Suite, Bluetooth™ technology, Infrared (IR), or a SIM card to transfer data from your phone.

After the software update/master reset you just restore the data back to your phone.
