To send an email with your phone

To be able to send and receive email messages with your phone, you must have email settings entered in your phone. You may also have to register an email account with your service provider. For most phones you can have email settings sent to you in an SMS message. Go to the Phone set-up service on this site and follow the instructions that appear. You can also manually configure an email account. To do this you need POP and SMTP server settings, which you get from your email service provider.

Note: When you send an email to a mobile phone, the recipient must have an email address and a subscription that supports email.

To send an email:

  1. Select Menu > Messaging > Email > Write message.
  2. Select Add > Enter email address to enter an email address. You can also select Address Book look-up to select a recipient from Address Book.
  3. If you wish to add more recipients, highlight To again by pressing the navigation key upwards and select Edit.
  4. Select To, Cc or Bcc and select Add. When you are finished selecting recipients select Done.
  5. Type an email subject in the Subject field if you like, then select OK. To edit the subject, select Edit.
  6. Write your message in the Text field. When done, select OK. To edit the message, highlight the text field again and select Edit.
  7. Press Add to select an attachment type. Press Select to attach.
  8. Highlight Attachments and select Add, to add more attachments.
  9. Select Continue > Send. Your email has now been sent.

To send an email:

  1. Select Menu > Messaging > Email.
  2. If you have several email accounts, select the account you want to send the message from.
  3. Select Write new > Add. Enter an email address or select a recipient from Contacts look-up.
  4. If you wish to add more recipients, highlight To and select Edit.
  5. Select To, Cc or Bcc and select Add. When you have added the recipients you want, select Done.
  6. Type an email subject in the Subject field if you wish, then select OK. To edit the subject, highlight the subject and select Edit.
  7. Write your message in the Text field, and select OK. To edit the message, highlight the text field again and select Edit.
  8. To add an attachement, highlight Attachments and select Add. Select an attachment type and press Select.
  9. To add more attachments, repeat step 8.
  10. Select "Cont." > "Send".
