I-mode™ (information mode) is a wireless technology that enables users to access Internet services via their mobile phones. The technology was developed by the Japanese company NTT DoCoMo, and is based on packet data transmission technology. This means that i-mode is always active, and therefore you're charged only for the amount of information you retrieve, not for the time you're online. You can use i-mode to exchange email with computers, personal digital assistants (PDAs) and other i-mode phones.
