How to recycle



How to prepare your device:


Back up any personal information stored on your phone you wish to save, e.g., contacts, photos, videos, music, email, text messages, documents etc. If you need assistance backing up personal information please contact your service provider or device manufacturer. For Sony Ericsson products you can find the information on the current web page or contact the Sony Ericsson Contact Center.

  1. Once you have backed up your personal information on another device, erase it from your phone.
     
  2. Remove and save your memory cards and your SIM card to transfer your service and any personal information saved on your cards to another compatible device.

    DISCLAIMER: SAVE WHERE REQUIRED UNDER MANDATORY APPLICABLE LAW, SONY ERICSSON ACCEPTS NO LIABILITY WHATSOEVER FOR: (1) ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION WHICH BECOMES LOST, DESTROYED OR IN ANY WAY CORRUPTED DURING YOUR ATTEMPT TO BACK UP OR TO TRANSFER YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION TO ANY OTHER STORAGE DEVICE(S); AND (2) ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION WHICH YOU FAIL TO DELETE FROM YOUR MOBILE PHONE PRIOR TO HANDING IN YOUR MOBILE PHONE FOR RECYCLING.
     
  3. Remove your phone from its charger (if connected) and leave the phone on until the battery has completely discharged. Once the battery has discharged and your phone is powered off, the phone (with the battery attached) is ready to be handed in for recycling. If you have extra or loose batteries for your device: Fully discharge the battery - Place a strip of tape over the battery contacts - Hand in the battery together with your device. If you wish to return your charger or other accessories such as portable hands free devices, please bring these along to the collection point.

How to hand in your phone for recycling? It's simple. Just drop your old mobile phone, battery or charger into the recycling box at the nearest Sony Ericsson service centre or appointed retail outlet. Call our Contact Center for the exact address. We will collect and transport these items to approved recycling facilities.
