Transfer contacts to your new phone
To transfer contacts from one phone to another, first copy them to your SIM card. Then transfer the SIM card to the new phone and copy them to that phone's phonebook. You can also do this by using the PC Suite to synchronise your phone with a computer.

Change the background image on your phone. Choose a ringtone you want to hear. Add personal ringtones and pictures to your contacts.

The easiest way to get WAP, MMS and email settings is to download settings from your phone. You can download the settings for WAP, MMS and email from the Phone set-up service on this site. To connect your phone to a computer or other device a USB cable or infrared port can be used. You will need to pair your phone with the other Bluetooth device.

Your phone may have additional features such as the Media Manager software. Some phones have a built-in camera. Some features can be operated using Voice control.

The first step with your new phone is to insert the SIM card. Then insert the battery and replace the cover. The phone battey is partly charged when you buy it. You can charge the battery at any time. (Learn some tips to help maximise battery performance). Select Normal/Phone mode or Flight mode when you turn on the phone.

Use Voicemail to take messages for you. Avoid making accidental calls when your phone is in your pocket or bag by locking the keypad.

Before sending your first text message, set the language settings for both phone menus and text messaging. Familiarise yourself with the text input options.

Many downloads are available for your phone, from ringtones and wallpapers to software updates that will improve performance. When you have downloaded content, follow the installation instructions that appear on the phone screen.
