Update the software in your phone
The Sony Ericsson Remote Update Service is a convenient way to easily and remotely update your phone with the latest available software to improve performance. The update is done directly from your phone over the air. No connection to a computer is needed. User data in the phone, such as images, music, ringtones and videos, is not affected by the update.
Check for new software versions for your phone
You can only perform a software update when new software is available. Updates are released at different times depending on your phone model and operator. You can easily search for a new software version with your phone. You can set an alert in your phone to get a regular reminder to update your phone software.
During the update process
The update process will take between 12 and 35 minutes. The size of the download (approximately 1-5 MB) is shown in your phone before the download starts. Content or data in your phone (such as images, music, ringtones, videos or data in your calendar or address book) will not be affected by the update.
