I can't charge the phone / the battery capacity is low

Solution 1:

Remove the battery and clean the connections

Sometimes the battery must be removed to allow dust, dirt and corrosion to be cleaned from the connectors on the phone and battery. The connectors can be cleaned with a soft brush, cloth or q-tip moistened with any type of unflavoured colourless alcohol. Make sure the battery is totally dry before you put it back.
Also check for damage to the phone connectors. If you have an original Sony Ericsson battery and your phone says "alien battery", the cleaning procedure may help you correct the problem.
